LORENA GABALDÓN

ARCHITECT

Lorena  was born in Venezuela in 1981 and graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2006. Her education included a year of study at L’École d’Architecture Paris-La Villette in 2004. Since 2007, she has lived and practiced architecture in the island of St. Barthélemy.

In 2013, she founded Gabaldon Architecture, and in 2014, she initiated a professional collaboration with Nicolas Lossent. Their collaboration is built on a shared approach to tropical architecture that balances creative design with technical precision and local context.

Lorena’s work is characterized by a strong focus on detail and a hands-on management style. She oversees projects from start to finish, ensuring that the original design remains consistent with technical requirements, local regulations, budgets, and the final build.

WORKING METHOD
COLLABORATION AND PRECISION

Lorena conceives and designs each project from scratch, with particular emphasis on the client’s requirements, such as program and intended uses, spatial needs, aesthetic identity, available budget.

Once the project begins to take shape, a continuous dialogue with collaborators is initiated, Lorena develops the full 2D drawings. Plans, sections, and elevations, taken to the highest level of detail, including materials and constructive principles.  Then a BIM collaborator handles the 3D dossier, generating the digital model that enables the ongoing exchange of information required for client validation, administrative and regulatory approval and accurate understanding of the project by the construction companies responsible for costing and execution
